(look at the pics to see the cats) Stormstar yawned and shook his fur.Another pretty dayHe thought as he walked over to the fresh kill pile. Scarletstorm got up and went to greet her father. "Pretty day, huh?" Scarletstorm mewed. "Yes, do you mind leading a hunting patrol? The fresh kill pile looks smaller than usual," Stormstar replied. She nodded and headed away.
Scarletstorm led her patrol out. "We are going to start catching fish. Since there are a lot Stormstar said we should," Scarletstorm mewed. Marshpelt nodded so did Mistfire and Blackpaw. "So, how do we catch fish?" Blackpaw prompted. Scarletstorm showed everyone and they got a ton of fish and headed back to camp. They dropped their prey on the fresh kill pile and started sharing tounges with their Clan mates. Surprisingly, the fish tasted pretty good.
Stormstar growled. "No no no!" Blackpaw stared at him then his mentor. "What am I doing wrong?" He asked Scarletstorm. She shrugged. "You are fishing wrong," Stormstar murmured. Scarletstorm glared at Stormstar. "He's doing nothing wrong!" She hissed. "Thats how I taught everyone! Thats how I learned to fish! You taught me to fish like that! How can it be wrong?" Stormstar replied, "I will teach him the proper way! I found out how to catch fish the proper way." Scarletstorm lashed her tail and glared at her father. Blackpaw backed up. "Er..Which way is easier?" Blackpaw meowed uncertainly. Scarletstorm shrugged. "Let Stormstar decide. He'll decide how everything will be taught!" She hissed. Blackpaw tensed, and Scarletstorm rested her tail on her apprentice's back. "It's okay. I'm just a little mad at Stormstar," She murmured in his ear. Blackpaw nodded. "Now show him," Scarletstorm snapped. Stormstar showed Blackpaw the proper way to catch a fish and sent Blackpaw back to camp. "We can't fight in front of him! It seems like we don't get along," Stormstar hissed. "Well, we don't. Only sometimes, but I'm mad at you right now. You think I teach my apprentice wrong? I do my best to teach him right! Are you saying I'm not a good mentor? It seems like it!" She hissed. Stormstar shrugged. "I guess we don't. But we have to watch where we are fighting and who we are fighting in front of! Nightwind won't be happy to see us fighting," His voice trailed off. "Of course she won't! She's my mother and your mate! She knows we don't get along and she's afraid. I have a wonderful bond with her, but not you!" Those were Scarletstorm's last words before she stalked off into the forest.
Scarletstorm raced through the trees and finally reached camp. There was a lot going on. Nightwind was pacing around, while Mistfire was tring to calm her. "Whats going on?" Scarletstorm demanded. All cats stopped and stared at her, then Stormstar burst through the tunnel. "Settle down! There is no need for all of this!" Stormstar calmed his Clanmates. "Nightwind, Mistfire, Thornclaw and Scarletstorm my den now," Stormstar meowed and turned and walked into his den while his warriors followed. Nightwind looked at Stormstar. "Blackpaw told us everything! How you guys fought and everything! He stayed for the whole fight! Thats what drove us crazy! How could you?" Nightwind hissed then she turned to Scarletstorm. "Have you gave up on giving your father another chance?" Scarletstorm nodded. "Mistfire and I should leave," Thornclaw mewed and followed Mistfire out of the den. "You lost her trust! How would you ever gain it back? She'll never trust her father! She'll just think he's a fox-heart!" Nightwind hissed at Stormstar. "Nightwind, I have a great bond with you. Just not him!" Scarletstorm meowed. Nightwind nodded then nudged Scarletstorm out of the den. "How will I ever forgive you? You lost your daughter's trust!" Nightwind growled. "I know that. She still has you. There's nothing I can do to change her mind. It's all up to you now," Stormstar hissed. Nightwind looked heart broken. "Fine. If thats the way you want it. Thats the way you'll get it! We're no longer mates!" She hissed and stalked out of the den. "Thats not what I wanted at all!" Stormstar called after her but it was to late.
Nightwind padded over to the other warriors and let out a moan. "He got what he needed," Mistfire soothed her. Thornclaw just stayed back not sure what to do. Scarletstorm nodded. "He doesn't need our trust. But he's leader...What do we do?" Scarletstorm meowed. "Ask StarClan," Firestone meowed, then added: "I'm going to the Starpool tonight. Why don't I ask them?" They all nodded. "He lost the trust of his Clanmates," Mistfire meowed. Goldpelt and Mouseclaw the wiset elders came over to join them. Goldpelt nodded. "StarClan is wise. They will know the right path for him. We can no longer trust his actions," Goldpelt lowered her voice and the warriors and Firestone gathered to hear. "We must watch him carefully," Goldpelt murmured to them.
Firestone rushed back from the Starpool. He gathered all the warriors he had talked to the night before he left. "StarClan says bring him to the Starpool and they will deal with him," Firestone told everyone. "Wise, maybe it's something we shouldn't hear," Mouseclaw meowed. Everyone nodded. They all seprated and acted like nothing happened. Every cat in the Clan was looking at Stormstar and no one went near him. Nightwind caught his eye and she hissed then Stormstar looked away. Mistfire whispered something in her ear. Nightwind rose to her paws and flicked her tail and Thornclaw and Scarletstorm followed Mistfire and Nightwind out of camp to hunt. Goldpelt murmured to Mouseclaw, "I'm ashamed of my kit.." "He was a brave and noble leader, but he turned into a nightmare," Mouseclaw murmured, then added: "Always remember he was a brave and noble leader, then you have nothing to be ashamed of." Goldpelt nodded. Stormstar rose to his paws when Nightwind and her patrol came back with prey in their jaws. The Clan feasted but no one went close to Stormstar, not even his mother, Goldpelt. "Nightwind," Stormstar called. Mistfire nudged Nightwind forward. Nightwind slowly walked toward him. "What?" She hissed. "I'm sorry," Stormstar mewed. "Sorry isn't enough to cure our broken hearts," Nightwind meowed wisely. Goldpelt and Mouseclaw nodded, approving her words. "Nothing can cure our broken hearts, they're already broken. There's nothing to do that can fix them," Nightwind murmured then turned back to Mistfire and padded away. "Wise words," Goldpelt murmured as Nightwind passed. Scarletstorm nodded as her mother passed. Firestone stood up. "Stormstar, StarClan wants to talk to you at the Starpool tonight, so you may as well leave now," He meowed. Stormstar nodded to Thornclaw then took off. "Thank you," Nightwind murmured softly. Firestone nodded to his sister, then slowly went to his den. "We may as well share whats on our minds," Mouseclaw called out. All the cats shrugged and Mouseclaw purred. "Don't be shy," Goldpelt invited Nightwind to talk. "He can't undo the damage he already did.. It's done and over with! But, how can we ever forget it? Just because it's done doesn't mean we have to forget it! It broke our hearts, it affected EVERY cat in this Clan, not just one! If it only affected one cat that's when we should forget it. But we won't. He may have been a noble and brave leader, but now he's nothing to us," Nightwind meowed. All the cats lifted their heads and yowled in agreement.
Stormstar returned and called a meeting. "StarClan has told me to be a warrior again and give leadership to Thornclaw. So I am now known as Stormfur. Thornclaw go with Firestone to the Silverpool," He yowled. The Clan cheered for Thornclaw, then grew silent as Stormfur leaped off the rock and headed toward them. "I will make a nest by yours," Stormfur meowed to Nightwind and she hissed. "No you won't! I don't want a nest next to you," She growled. Stormfur shrugged then disappeared inside the warriors den. Goldpelt looked at Nightwind. "Act like you love him. It'll be much better if you do that. He will at least know his mate still kind of cares," Goldpelt advised. Nightwind nodded then headed in the den. "You know what, I'm happy to have a nest by yours," Nightwind purred. "Good, because its going to stay there," Stormfur purred. He touched her ear with his nose, and Nigthwind started to really love him. She walked out of the den and whispered to Goldpelt, "I think I'm in love with him again.." Goldpelt purred, "That's great. Now we need to make Scarletstorm love him." Nightwind nodded. Then padded over to Stormfur.
Nightwind grabbed a fish from the pile and settled down next to Stormfur. Thornstar was about to pick his new deputy. "I want Mistfire to be my deputy. She has shown such loyalty and courage that she has the honor to be my deputy," Thornstar yowled. The Clan cheered her name then Thornstar went to eat beside his mate, Scarletstorm. Stormfur and Nightwind finished their fish and started sharing tounges. "Cats are goin to think I'm crazy!" Nightwind muttered. Stormfur purred. "They may get the though that we made up and are mates again." Nightwind nodded.
It was green leaf and surprisingly, Scarletstorm moved to the nursery. Thornstar was pacing around Stormfur and Nightwind. "Stop worring! You'll frighten her. She's fine and her kits are safe." Nightwind reassured him. Thornstar nodded. Then hey heard a wail. Thornstar gasped. "Don't worry. That happens to all queens when they're having kits."
Scarletstorm's kits: Silverkit, Shadekit, and Lionkit were racing around in the clearing. Fernshade a queen that stays in the nursery helping queens, was watching them. Thornstar watched his kits and purred. Shadekit glanced at her father. "One day I want to be leader, like you!" She told him. "Well, I think you'd make a wonderful leader!" Thornstar purred. "No! I want to be leader!" Lionkit mewed. "You can be MY deputy when I'm leader!" Silverkit promised Lionkit. "Then I want Silverkit to be leader. She would let me be deputy. That's close to being leader," Lionkit decided. Scarletstorm came back from the stream and pushed a ball of moss and the kits chased after it. She sat next to her mate, Thornstar. "Play with us!" Lionkit begged Fastpaw, Rushpaw, and Blackpaw. Thornstar leaped onto the high- ledge. "Let all cats old enough to catch fish and prey gather to hear my words!" He called and slowly cats began to gather. "We are here because there is something I must do. Rushpaw, Fastpaw, and Blackpaw step forward. You guys are done with training and ready to be warriors. Rushpaw to earn your warrior name you must catch this fish," Thornstar meowed and threw a fish and Rushpaw caught it. "From this day on Rushpaw you will be known as Rushwind. Fastpaw to earn your warrior name you must catch this rabbit." Thornstar threw a rabbit and Fastpaw caught it. "You will be known as Fastwhisker. Blackpaw you must catch this bird." Blackpaw caught it and looked up at Thornstar. "You will be known as Blackthunder." "Rushwind! Fastwhisker! Blackthunder!" The Clan cheered and cats slowly started to return to what they were doing.
Scarletstorm walked up to Mistfire to hear today's patrols. "Scarletstorm take Blackthunder, Marshpelt, and Nightwind out on a hunting patrol," Mistfire meowed. Scarletstorm nodded and headed out of camp, her patrol following. "We'll catch fish today. But, we can catch other prey," Scarletstorm told them. They all nodded and headed away. Scarletstorm headed for the stream. She made sure her shadow didn't go on the stream, so she wouldn't scare the fish. She saw a fish and reached her paw and hooked it with a claw and threw it up on the land. She killed it with a swift bite.
The patrol met close to camp and headed in, jaws filled with prey. They all dropped their prey, and Scarletstorm went back to care for her kits."Were they good?" Scarletstorm asked Fernshade. "They were wonderful!" She purred.Scarletstorm saw them all curled up in their nest and fast asleep. Scarletstorm couldn't help purring. Lionkit raised his head and blinked. "Scarletstorm!" He yelped and rushed over to nuzzle her. Shadekit and Silverkit shot up and raced after Lionkit. Scarletstorm and Fernshade purred. "Why don't we get some fish?" Scarletstorm mewed. "I'll get it!" Lionkit annouced. And he raced off to get a fish. He came back with the fish in his jaws and Thornstar padded after him. "They missed you," Thornstar told Scarletstorm. "But I'm here now," Scarletstorm added. Thornstar nodded.
Everyone was searching for Blackthunder. Then he appeared in the camp entrance. "Where have you been?" His mother, Mistfire asked. "Somewhere," He replied, giving nothing away. "You smell funny!" Shadekit meowed and wrinkled her nose. "Shhh," Scarletstorm murmured to her. "You smell like a a barn cat," Goldpelt mewed and circled him. "You've been with one. Who is she?" Goldpelt stared at Blackthunder. "Her name is Stream. She's a loner," Blackthunder meowed quietly. "Traitor!" Rushwind hissed at him. Wildflower, Rushwind's new mate went to calm him. "You betrayed us," Wildflower meowed to Blackthunder, then followed Rushwind. "Mistfire and Blackthunder my den now," Thornstar called to his deputy and the warrior. "Why would you do that to us? How could you betray your Clan?" Thornstar asked Blackthunder. "I didn't think I was doing any harm. Would you like to meet her?" Blackthunder meowed. Thornstar nodded. "Fetch her!" Blackthunder headed out of the den and Mistfire and Thornstar followed.
Blackthunder returned with Stream following him. All the warriors were in the clearing, and other cats peered from their dens. Thornstar stood up and Mistfire followed him. "So you're Stream," Thornstar mewed. Stream stood still. "I've never seen so many cats in my life! And yes," Stream meowed. Mistfire circled Blackthunder slowly, but Mistfire's eyes were locked on Stream. "To be with Blackthunder you have to join our Clan," Thornstar told Stream. Yowls of protest came from the Clan. Even Goldpelt and Mouseclaw joined. "We don't need another mouth to feed! She'll never get used to living with a Clan!" Goldpelt protested. "Yeah, it'll take a while for her to learn fighting skills!" Mouseclaw hissed."She can still learn them!" Blackthunder snarled. Stream backed away slowly. "I- I don't know," Stream mewed, staring around wildly. "I don't want a farm cat living with us!" Goldpelt hissed angrily. Stream stood up. "Hold on! You don't know what I can give to this Clan!" Stream snarled. Every cat stopped and stared, anger glittered in their eyes. "Show us!" Goldpelt ordered. Stream nodded, and leaped in the air and twisted and slashed a fore paw and landed on her paws. "I'm joining. I will prove I am worthy of being in this Clan," Stream hissed. "Then you shall be known as Streamflash," Thornstar mewed, then gathered his senior warriors. Which were: Mistfire, Nightwind, Flamepelt, and Windflight. Windflight followed Thornstar and shook his white fur. "Are you sure it was wise?" Flamepelt asked Thornstar. "I want to see what she can do. I'm giving her a chance. But if she doesn't impress me by next half moon, she'll leave," Thornstar meowed. "Good idea," Nightwind mewed, then they are returned to their warrior duties. Mistfire called a hunting patrol, "I want Windflight to lead it." She nodded to the tom then added: "And Rushwind, Nightwind, and Flamepelt will join you." Windflight nodded and headed out his patrol following. "We'll focus on fish today. There seem to be plenty," Windflight told them. They headed for the river. Windflight made sure his shadow didn't cross the river, and he looked for a fish. He swifty put his paw in the water and hooked a fish on his claw. He threw it on land and killed it with a bite to the neck. Soon he caught 3 big fish, and his whole patrol caught three also. They headed to camp and dropped the fish on the pile. "Do you guys hunt for yourselves?" Streamflash asked Blackthunder. "No, we hunt and the elders and queens get fed first. Then the apprentices and warriors and so on. The warriors and apprentices hunt for the Clan," Blackthunder told her. Streamflash nodded in understanding. Windflight snorted and settled down beside Nightwind and Thornstar. They began to gulp down their fish. "We need to give her a chance. Streamflash you'll start training with Blackthunder tomorrow!" Thornstar mewed.
Windflight and Nightwind hid behind the bush like Thornstar told them. They watched Blackthunder train Streamflash. They were suppose to see if they did anything wrong. "Attack me," Blackthunder ordered. Streamflash obeyed and leaped at him. Blackthunder moved aside and knocked her off. "Not so hard!" Nightwind and Windlfight hissed as they stepped out. Streamflash was on her side, hissing at Blackthunder. "I-I'm sorry," Blackthunder meowed. "Why did Thornstar let you train her? He should have picked someone who has trained an apprentice before. Not a new warrior," Windflight hissed and Nightwind nodded. Nightwind waved her tail and all the cats followed her back to camp. Nightwind and Windflight headed for Thornstar's den. They walked inside and sat down. "Blackthunder is to rough. He doesn't know how to train Streamflash. Maybe a senior warrior should do it?" Windflight meowed. "Alright. Nightwind you will train her. I will tell them both," Thornstar meowed and headed out of the den. Windflight and Nightwind nodded to eachother and headed out. Stormfur rushed up to Nightwind. "She loves me! She loves me!" Stormfur purred. Nightwind purred, happy that Scarletstorm now cared. Every cat seemed to care about Stormfur. They didn't like him being leader, though. Lionkit rushed over to Streamflash. Shadekit and Silverkit raced after him. Scarletstorm sat next to Wildflower and Rushwind. "You smell funny!" Lionkit mewed and wrinkled his nose."Be quiet!" Thornstar told his kit sternly, and started talking to Blackthunder and Streamflash again. "Let's go pretend we're leaders!" Shadekit meowed and raced off to the clearing close to the nursery. Silverkit and Lionkit raced after her. "This time I'm leader!" Lionkit decided. They all nodded. "I'll be Shadefeather. I'll be from IceClan. I just made it up," Shadekit mewed. "I'm Lionstar of FireClan!" Lionkit annouced. "I'm Silverdream of MistyClan! I'm deputy and Shadefeather is, too!" Silverkit told them. They all nodded. "What're you doing here?" Lionkit hissed. Shadekit didn't flinch, Silverkit did a little. "Why should you know?" Shadekit hissed, then glanced at Silverkit.
